Website Revamped

At Last! Livesey have developed a new website with local web design firm BeVivid. The website is currently in Phase 1 and provides Livesey with a strong online presence which sits neatly alongside the current revamp Livesey have undertaken with regard to their marketing material. Incorporating the new logo design the website matches the professional attitude of the Livesey team which was so sorely missing from the previous incarnation of the website.

At present the website provides customers with the first point of contact at Livesey and hopes to answer any questions about what Livesey do. It is hoped that in time this information will be added to become an invaluable resource for all who use it.

In future the website will be developed to provide Livesey’s customers with a way to provide designs and artwork via an FTP upload facility.

High Quality - Quick Turnaround

Livesey Ltd has been producing quality print for over 100 years and is probably not best known for short-run quick turnaround work. But now that has changed with the introduction of Digital Technology, which offers variable images and variable data on each sheet.

This process is ideally suited to producing work which is required instantly or last-minute. Quantities from as low as one copy upwards, each with different images/text on are now available, including personalisation for mailing to your databases.

We specialise in individualised mailing pieces, which generate high response rates. Full design and proofing facilities are also available, we print anything from a business card through to a full multi-page catalogue, brochure or magazine. Full finishing facilities are also in-house and our reputation for quality and service is unrivalled.

New Digital Xerox Printer

Livesey have just taken delivery of a new digital Xerox printer. This adds to the already impressive plant list at Livesey and provides the production team with a state of the art way of turning around relatively small print projects in ultra quick time.

We found that with the ever increasing quality of digital print machines we are able to still provide the excellent finish to a project we have become renowned for but without the set up time commonly associated with lithographic printers.

Lift & Lock Exhibition

Recently Livesey were able to help a local engineering company who have developed a door handle which can be locked simply by lifting the handle. Lift the handle, lock the door, it's as easy as that.  The product looks just like a conventional handle and is as easy to use.  In fact, the clever design of the lever handle conceals a special “locking” trigger.  Simply lifting the inside handle immobilises the outside handle, effectively "locking" the door.

Livesey produced a complete exhibition stand with pop-up sidewinder stands and exhibition panels for the March Glassex exhibition.

Printers Celebrate Decade of Running With the London Marathon

When Gerald Bayliss and Richard Dodd decided they could no longer take the physical demands of contact sports, they decided to take up running and have just completed their first London Marathon together.

Richard, 46, is a printer for Livesey Printers, Shrewsbury and was running for Hope House Children’s Hospice, while Gerald, 47, a print finisher from Livesey ran for Breast Cancer Research.

When asked about why he chose running, Gerald said: “I used to play football regularly but found it was no longer enjoyable so decided to take up running instead and done it ever since.”

Both have had experience of running marathons before, with this being Richard’s 10th in total and Gerald’s 4th. They both did incredibly well with Richard completing it in 4 hours 52 minutes and 55 seconds, while Gerald came in after 4 hours, 37 minutes and 22 seconds.

When asked about the experience, they said: “The weather was incredibly hot and made things a little harder, but the crowds were amazing and definitely the best we’ve ever seen.”

In total they managed to raise £850 with all their colleagues donating towards these worthy causes.

Oldest Printers in Shropshire Goes Digital

Everything has to change and evolve, and Livesey Printers in Shrewsbury now offers customers short run quality digital printing for the first time in their long history.

Established in 1842 Livesey has years of experience within the world of printing and are able to offer high quality litho printing for very competitive prices, but not one to rest on their laurels, it has just invested in a new digital printer which opens up a whole new world of opportunities.

When asked about the introduction of new the printer, managing director, Glyn Bowen, said: “Livesey has always offered customers a first-class service and this is why we have managed to serve Shropshire for over 100 years, but we also recognise the need to introduce new services, and digital printing is one way forward.”

As well as being able to offer short run quality printing, Livesey is also able to offer variable data printing which allows businesses to personalise marketing material according to the database information they have.

Glyn continued: “Variable data is a great way to maximise the response you receive when you send out direct mail as each piece of literature is personalised to a specific person and this increases the chances of them opening it and reading what you have to say.

“Another advantage is that we are able to turn jobs around incredibly quickly without affecting the quality of print – which is essential in today’s fast-moving business world.”
